Correct size for MBT boots and shoes?

I'm hoping someone can assist. I currently have the Kisumu sandals, size 39 (US 9), which fit well. I now want to purchase online (no stockist in my vicinity) a pair of walking boots and trainers. However, I find the sizing system confusing. On the basis of the MBT women's foot sizing chart that I downloaded it appears I should go with a size 41 (US9.5-10). Maybe even size 41 2/3, if I want to leave plenty of room for socks. Does anyone here who normally takes a size 39 sandal also have the shambla walking boots or black sports unisex trainers? What size did you buy? Do they fit well? Any tips greatly appreciated. (-: Batin 293

Still hoping someone here can advise. I ordered the black trainers in size 41 2/3. They arrived today and are way too big. )-: Now I'll have to try to sell them. What a hassle! Can anyone here assist with regard to size? Thanks! Batin 315

You should always have your size measured at an MBT stockist. I had to wear a size smaller than I normally would. You can then go and buy online if you so wish. 316

batin, mbts always come up big, i have 4 pairs. take them back to the store and get them replaced. try 39 2/3 as your size. im normally a 7.5 and always take a 7 in mbts. you go a half size down normally, a full size if you have slim feet. 355

Hi Batin Official sizing for MBTs as taught to ALL dealers select half a size down in MBTs if you have feet of normal width select a full size down if you have slim feet select your normal size if you have broad feet These 3 rules normally work but not always, depends on your foot shape and toe length. The biggest problem is that each MBT style is different in width .. Sport Black is broad with a big toe box MWalk Black and Red are quite narrow in comparison and not as long for the same size. Its this difference in size that means you need to visit a GOOD supplier specialist. Check out the swissmasai UK site and use the postcode finder to locate nearest stockists. Then call and quiz the staff until you are happy that they know what they are doing Brian 360

I am wanting to purchase 'chapa' ladies trainers, also unable to find local stockists to get proper fitting.I just tried to order some from Milletts sports, who told me they could not sell me any unless I had had a proper fitting! I am a pretty regular uk size 6, so presuming would be safe to purchase a size 5 1/2.? Can anybody help! Thanks; lisa 958

Reply #5 by Beth was spot on!! Thanks Beth, im gonna go print off those foot charts right now! They are perfect for those unable to go into the stockists or those who are unable to afford the shop prices (as a lot cheaper online!!). The info in the feet first link was VERY helpful. Once again Thanks Beth ;-) 1060

Rob [reply 2] suggests that you get fitted by the trained staff in a shop but then buy on line. Certainly, but don't expect the trained staff to be there next time you want their help. The shop that employs them will have closed down because of all the thoughtless people who have consulted their expertise but not purchased. 1111

Personally I never buy shoes online, as I feel the need to test any pair of shoes before buying. 1116

I bought the Lami and it was actually one size smaller than I normally wear (in US). I tried on the tied sneakers and they are my normal US size. 1234

Work takes up some of our time, since i don't have enough time to take exercise ,my physical condition is getting worse and worse, i noticed a website selling discount fitness MBT shoes a few days ago, it said that they can stimulate muscles of your entire body, so I bought one pair, and they do work very well, i am much better now. 1663
