Hi All I was wondering if anyone with ankle fusion had used MBTs to get back into any form of running? I have one fused ankle and just bought a pair. I will try some light running on a treadmill to see how it goes. I'm also interested in anyone's skiing experiences after an ankle fusion - particularly with getting ski boots modified etc. Thanks Eric |

I wonder, has anybody experienced any problems with their MBTs? I bought a pair 2 1/2 years ago and started using them on a daily basis. In fact I was so enthusiastic I started briskly walking part of the way to work every day (appx 2 miles). However, it wasn't long before I started experiencing pain in between the 3rd and 4th metatarsal bones while in the 'toeing off position' (ie. just as my toes leave the floor in a normal stepping movement). I decided to 'walk through' the pain as I was determined to make the most of my new shoes, but the pain was really bad and I realise now I should've seen a doctor sooner. It was a sharp pain, but also at times was like an electrical pain, like the feeling you get when you bang your funny bone, plus numbness around the area. I saw my GP and then a foot specialist, and it was thought to be a morton's neuroma, but I had it operated on and it appears to have been a build of scar tissue around the tendons/ligaments caused either by a direct in... read more |

I saw a member of my surgeons team yesterday after having my latest x-ray on my recently fused ankle. He mentioned that having a rocker fitted to my shoes might help allow my walking to be more smoother. He also told me about MBT Shoes (Masai Barefoot Technology) that may do the trick too, having the rocker idea built into fashionable shoes. They are usually used for muscle toning. They are not cheap at about £129 but if they make a difference then it could be money well spent. Found a shop yesterday but they were moving location! Hope to try some out soon and will report back here now I get on. |

I'm hearing more and more about RYN shoes now and I'm wondering if RYN shoes are actually better than MBT shoes. It seems that the quality of MBT footwear has been getting worse in recent years. Are there people out there that have stopped buying MBT's and started buying RYN's instead? |

Hi, I was just curious if anyone here has plantar fasciitis and if MBT shoes helped them with the condition. I have tried the inserts with gel and walkfit inserts from TV and still am plagued with the pain. Do you have a particular MBT shoes model that you'd recommend for this? Thanks Terry http://www.TrendyShoeShop.com |

Any PHYSICAL problems after buying MBTs

Hi.... I wondered if anybody with any physical problems after using MBTs would like to comment (as opposed to problems with MBTs falling apart or problems with the manufacturer). I'm just curious as I never had any problems with my feet whatsoever before wearing MBTs, yet within a few weeks of wearing them every day, I now have permanent damage to my feet, have had 2 operations, and am possibly facing a third operation later in the year. I'm not suggesting the MBTs are definitely to blame as it could be a combination of using MBTs, over-exercising, or just a mere coincidence. However, if anybody else has any physical problems that they think may be attributable to MBTs, then I would be interested to know. Many thanks |

I'm hoping someone can assist. I currently have the Kisumu sandals, size 39 (US 9), which fit well. I now want to purchase online (no stockist in my vicinity) a pair of walking boots and trainers. However, I find the sizing system confusing. On the basis of the MBT women's foot sizing chart that I downloaded it appears I should go with a size 41 (US9.5-10). Maybe even size 41 2/3, if I want to leave plenty of room for socks. Does anyone here who normally takes a size 39 sandal also have the shambla walking boots or black sports unisex trainers? What size did you buy? Do they fit well? Any tips greatly appreciated. (-: Batin |

I can't find any RYN stockist in the UK.. http://www.rynshoes.co.uk/ seem to be out of operation. I have heard bad things about MBT quality. It's a long time since their good quality originals. If it's just the sole that wears, I could get it redone by a good repairer if I knew of one, but I don't. One person mentioned they had a repair but the sole didn't last as long as the original. Where can I try on quality MBT, or RYN in the UK? (pref london) |

Hi there, I live in Germany and I just bought a pair of MBTs. They are just great. My question is this: the seller I got them from said that the instructional DVD we all know about does not come included in the package anymore since December 2009, an that it has to be purchased separately. Has anyone heard of this? Anyone bought a pair after last December? Was the DVD included? This sounds really suspicious to me. Thanks a lot and greetings from Berlin. |

Hello, all: I'm seriously considering buying a pair of MBTs. I have a history of severe back pain,(s/p 3 surgeries). However, in reading of some posters having had pain and even foot surgery,I'm concerned. The fact that there seems to be issues with inferior materials doesn't help. I'd very much appreciate if I could get some feedback that could help in my decision-either way. Cheers, and a healthy and happy New Year to all! -Kal |
